What services do you provide that no one else does already?

By representing the buyer at builder scheduled meetings, providing photographic journals and posting pertinent documentation and walk checklists on the client’s “Home Page” we provide new home buyers with a professional builder’s eye and experience on their side of the table throughout the construction and orientation phases of the new home experience. Additionally, this service works to support the buyer’s agent in providing an eye on the progress of the construction of new homes and teaming with these agents in providing that extra level of service to new home buyers. Most of all, Customer Service is our company job, not just one of our departments.

What kinds of things will be on my “Home Page?”

Your personal “Home Page” can be found on our web site HouseWalkers.com and displays photographs of the home as it is being built, notes from our experts, notes from the builder meetings, copies of available documentation that can include plot plans, neighborhood layouts, STIP/option selection sheets, inspection reports, builder notes and our own checklists designed to give the you all the information you need to understand the building process and your new home. The personal “Home Page” is your one stop shop for information on your new home direct from the building site.

What do you mean by the phrase “From Dirt to Done?”

“From Dirt to Done” is our complete service throughout the building and walk process, ideally from before footings are dug and through the final walk. As soon as we are contracted to provide the service we’ll begin work documenting your home’s progress on your HouseWalkers.com “Home Page.”

Is this a home inspection service?

No, it is not. HouseWalkers.com is a service that provides you with a “Boots on the ground” view in your absence as it happens and provides you with timely information not otherwise available in this format or in such depth. Should you desire an inspection service somewhere along the way in your new homes’ construction we will be happy to recommend some of the best.

What are your team’s qualifications?

I spent several years as a home builder. I’ve built or remodeled homes from 1500 square feet to 5000 square feet and of all sorts of designs. I’ve worked closely with selling and buying agents in ensuring customers were satisfied with the project they dreamed of. I routinely discus progress with home buyers throughout the process and give them a sense of satisfaction and comfort on the status of their new home. I know what to look for and the terms associated with building a home and how the trades plan and perform their construction work. Besides all that, we are Veterans, web site developers, photographers, OSHA trained experts, Project and Program Managers, QA inspectors, volunteers and much, much more.

What does it cost?

We base our fees on the size and type of home and the amount of time it takes to build your home. Normally, we can spend a 4-5 hours each week on each project, talking with builders and agents, walking the property, taking pictures and preparing reports and uploading results to your “Home Page.” We gather environmental data and prepare plans for each visit. All in all, each project averages 60-80 hours “From Dirt to Done.” For that we charge as low as $1.25 per square foot of your project. Large custom home projects can take much longer and require more detail walks and data gathering. For those more challenging properties we start our pricing at $1.50 per square foot.
